Serengeti - Amboseli

6/24/2019

Tauck's Kenya safari tours begin in Amboseli
We left the Serengeti behind as you fly to Arusha, Tanzania en route to Kenya. Dominating the skyline, majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro peaks over surrounding landscapes from more than 15,000 feet up. Unfortunately, it was mostly covered with clouds this day. We had lunch at the Cultural Heritage Center in Arusha prior to continuing into Kenya and beginning a two-night stay at your safari lodge in Amboseli National Park, where herds of free-ranging elephants and other wildlife like to roam; we had a private lecture on the elephants of Amboseli before dinner this night.

This was a travel day. We spent the first part of the day flying (Dash-7 Aircraft below) to Arusha from the Serengeti National Park. Then lunch at the Arusha Cultural Heritage Center, which was mostly a gigantic set of building selling African souvenirs. Much of the day was on a bus driving from Arusha to the Tanzania-Kenya boarder and going through customs and Kenya boarder entry. First we had to get out of the bus go into a building to go through Tanzania customs and immediately to a line for Kenya Visa inspection. Then we transferred to our Tour Cruisers for a drive to Amboseli National Park.
